A Chaplain's Policies

  • A corps of Volunteer Community Chaplains is formed to assist the law enforcement agencies. The purpose is to reach out to victims or witnesses of crime with a crisis counseling approach.
  • The Chaplaincy will make every effort to maintain a balance in perspectives and denominations of those people served.
  • Regular training of volunteers is mandatory and each is required to serve at least a 24 hour watch once a month.
  • The Volunteer Corps will be supervised by the Community Chaplain supervisor (or his/her designee).
  • In the event that any volunteer staff has questions or difficulty with any policy or operational procedure decision, that staff member shall address his/her concerns to the Chaplain supervisor or the supervisor's designee. If a Chaplain has a concern he/she wants directed to any law enforcement agency, he/she may contact the administration of the Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy.
